July 23, 2021 – TLC Times

By July 23, 2021 TLC Times

We woke up to a beautiful sunny Maine today, and there was a palpable sense of energy around camp. Whether it was the amazing weather or the fact that today kicked off our super fun weekend at camp, we loved the energy our campers brought today. After a morning full of activities, we surprised each bunk with a cookie cake that had their bunk number drawn out in frosting. The girls’ faces lit up as they realized this special surprise was for them! One of the little ways we plan to surprise our campers over the next couple days and bring some extra fun to our summer! Tomorrow kicks off a jam-packed day, with two activities our campers love so much. Our staff has been prepping for days to get our all-camp relay race setup, and let me tell you, when we say this is all over camp, we mean it! Activities will be spread across the waterfront to all the way up towards the softball fields. Our campers will be running across camp with their team, and we can’t wait to see them tackle each activity!

As I reflect on what this weekend typically means, it makes me long for the moment when our families see our campers for the first time in person. It’s such a special moment that I know our campers and parents look forward to every year! The same goes for our staff – it’s a time when they each get to introduce themselves to parents and share all the wonderful moments each camper has experienced at Tripp Lake so far. We will miss seeing our Tripp Lake families this weekend, but know we will make up for this next year! We also hope you follow along on our social media channels tomorrow so that you can see all that’s going on around camp! We will be posting throughout the entire day tomorrow because we want to do our part to help you feel like you’re right here with us at TLC.

This weekend is also a reminder that our time at Tripp Lake Camp always goes by so quickly. It’s an excellent reminder for campers to be in the moment, connect with new and old friends, enjoy the disconnection from outside the bubble, savor that chocolate chip cookie, jump off the Thunderdome one more time, cheer a little louder at dinner, sing your heart out at Sing-Song practice, and to keep a positive attitude each and every day. We have so much fun planned this weekend and throughout the rest of the summer, and we can’t wait to see our campers seize each and every day!

Kind Regards,

Leslie
