I’m fortunate to watch the bond between our campers strengthen every day – specifically the one between our younger and older campers. The Seniors play such a large role in shaping the experience our younger campers have at Tripp Lake Camp. Whether it’s teaching the traditional songs, the birthday song, the rules of Gaga, or the way around camp – our campers take on this role to ensure our younger campers feel at home here. Today was full of events and activities all focused on building friendships between our age groups.
The day kicked off with Senior Serving, a secret event where our Inter I’s surprise all the Seniors by waking them up, getting their breakfast order, and serving them in bed. We woke up to one of the most beautiful mornings we’ve had in a while – sun shining, birds chirping, and not a cloud in the sky! The Inter I’s quietly entered the campus and stood outside their assigned Senior bunk. The second reveille played, the girls started jumping up and down, cheering their way to wake each Senior up. Between pancakes, eggs, cinnamon rolls, bacon, avocado toast, and fresh fruit, the Inter I’s created a fantastic meal to say thank you for guiding them throughout their journey at Tripp!
After a day full of activities out in the beautiful, sunny weather, the evening brought two other favorite events: Junior/Senior Bingo Night and AJ/Inter I Kickball Night! As I walked into Bingo Night, I could see every pair wearing their matching pajamas, all cozied up listening for their numbers to be called, in anticipation of yelling, “BINGO!” The same excitement was seen on the kickball field, as each pair held hands as they ran from base to base. Home run after home run, the girls came ready to run and make their partner proud! Today was not only a beautiful day of weather but also a day that I know so many of our campers will look back on and smile. So many sweet memories made!
Kind Regards,
Leslie
