“I love being up on stage and performing in front of people. That’s where I get the most energy.” – Adam Haynes, Performer

Day 19: Musical Season Has Begun!

Following the traditional singing of Remember in OTW and the dimming of the lights, a modest hush fell over the audience; it was the beginning of the Seniors’ All-Star Revue at Tripp Lake Camp. Their theme: “Life is a Highway.”

otwOver the span of an hour and a half, the Seniors shined bright on the OTW stage, singing traditional and contemporary musical numbers, as well as a few contemporary pop songs. Big Teams sang songs in honor of their Captains, Mascots, and Sing-Song Leaders. A handful of camper duets performed such well-known OTW classics as Wicked’s Popular & For Good, while others sang Aladdin’s A Whole New World. The finale wrapped up with the 1ABers projecting old footage of their  Junior year’s 12 Little Princesses 2008 performance, while they all sang the finale to Joseph &
all-star revueThe Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This simple gesture underlined the time that had passed between their first and now final play performance in Over The Wall. Many of the Seniors we spoke to–when asked where some of their most cherished memories at camp took place–told us that Over The Wall taught them so much about themselves and each other.  If I was to take a guess, I’m sure they aren’t the only one’s to feel this exact same way.

Finally, Charlotte Hawkins is back at it with TWO exclusive TLC Times Blog video shorts!   These highlight the fun campers had not only at Junior-Senior Bingo and Brother-Sister Day, but also the AJ’s Trip Tuesday to the historic Colonial Pemaquid located in Bristol, Maine.
