Day 08: 4th of July & OC-NOC

The whole camp gathered around the head of campus to commemorate the birth of our great Nation. The inter I’s welcomed us to the annual 4th of July celebration by singing a rousing version of Grand Old Flag, a flagpole raising lead by Janet Nash, and reflecting about the history of the United States and how, we, at Tripp Lake Camp recognize the freedoms our independence grants us.

TLC Fun Fact: The 50 bunks which surround our TLC campus represent the 50 States that make up The United States.

The night wrapped up with the counselors taking the stage at OTW theatre to entertain the campers in OC-NOC, the counselor talent show. It was hosted by veteran staff favorites, Eric Bell, Stephanie Greenwald & Chris J., as the threesome realized how “out-of-touch” and unhip they were when compared to their audience. Campers and other staff members came on stage to help resolve  this clearly tragic situation and get the show started. Other incredible acts included plenty of singing and dancing. Also, comedy acts, a full camper karaoke sing-a-long to Blank Space, as well as ex-camper skits.
