“As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.” – David Henry Thoreau, Poet
Day 39: Wish Night
Tonight, the Inter II’s hosted Wish Night down at edge of Tripp Lake. Using photography as a metaphor, the Inter II’s talked about the journey many Tripp Lakers make as they progress from Junior to Senior, slowly gaining a stronger bond and love with camp.
The night is complimented by a roaring fire, as each age group–as well as each individual 1ABer–write a wish about camp and what they hope will carry forward for years to come. Each wish is read aloud for all to hear, and is then represented with a small candle that is gently nudged out from Tripp Lake’s shore.
It’s a wonderfully reflective night that is attended by both counselors and campers. You’re invited to watch the video below–exclusively made for the TLC Daily Blog–which captured some small moments from tonight’s heartfelt special event. Enjoy.
