Tripp Lake Little Teams

Another Tuesday Trip Day has passed at Tripp Lake Camp and our girls have returned from more fun adventures across Maine. The only group to stay back on camp today was the Juniors and they absolutely loved it. Having camp to themselves gave them the opportunity to run wild and free and play at all their favorite activities. This sweet, fun, curious group of campers started their day off strong with more Little Team games! The Cheeries took on the Laughers in basketball, while the Jollies competed in soccer against the Smilies! When not running across the court in tutus, they spread out at tennis and ski. Watching the progression of the Juniors in both these areas is really special. The memory of your first time getting up on waterskis is something you’ll never forget, and so many girls are having that opportunity with our dedicated ski team. With multiple boats running and additional staff members added, we are working hard to rotate as many campers through the waterski program as we can this summer.

Tripp Lake WaterskiWhile the Juniors ruled camp, the rest of our campers were spread out at various locations. The AJs explored a local favorite at The Desert of Maine. Their experience in this Maine wonder began with a tour, followed by a fossil dig and scavenger hunt. After lunch, they played mini-golf and hiked and explored  the desert. All the AJs came back raving about the trip and how much fun they had. What a great way to spend a Tuesday with your Tripp Lake sisters!

Desert of Maine TripMeanwhile, the Subs departed camp bright and early for Wilburs Chocolate Factory. The group was split up and they rotated between making dip cookies and hunting for treasure. They followed this sweet adventure with a ferry ride to Peaks Island where they ate lunch and explored the island in groups before making their way back to camp. There was of course a quick stop at the Log Yard Dairy Bar, which was very needed on this hot day! The Inter IIIs enjoyed the surf and sand at Pine Point Beach. Between making sand castles and swimming, they had a fun and relaxing day with their friends and counselors! The Inter IIs went to The Magic Lantern for a movie before boarding the bus to Seacoast Adventure. After eating lunch, they rotated between playing mini golf and go-carts! Such a great combination for an afternoon trip off-camp.

Tripp Lake mini golfThe Inter Is started their morning with a scenic train ride, followed by a ferry ride to Peaks Island. After enjoying the afternoon exploring the island, they went to Hadlock Field for their first Portland Sea Dogs baseball game. Unfortunately, a storm rolled in causing the game to be delayed and eventually rescheduled. The SRs began their day in Cape Elizabeth where they relaxed and swam at Crescent Beach State Park. They too headed to the Sea Dogs game which got rained out. We’ll find another date for them to experience this fun tradition! Both groups maintained positive attitudes and made the best of it by enjoying food under the pavilion before heading back to camp. Tomorrow is a PJ Breakfast (sleep in) which is necessary for all campers and staff. We’ve been going non-stop and the girls need a little extra rest so they can continue to enjoy all the fun activities we have planned in the weeks ahead!

Kind Regards,

Leslie and Katie
