Sunny days at camp are the best, especially when they start with a Pajama Breakfast (PJB)! Campers made their way to the dining hall in their pajamas and opened the box of Dunkin Donuts, wide-eyed with excitement. Some girls also made their way to our morning breakfast bar, full of yogurt and fresh fruit like blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, melon, and grapes. This is one of our favorite ways to start the day!

After breakfast, girls made their way for morning clean-up in their bunks. Today kicked off our weekend of camper phone calls, starting with our Juniors and Inter III’s. One by one, they approached the staff with giddiness and giant smiles, all so looking forward to connecting with their parents! Girls ended their calls with happy faces, ready to jump right back into their activity, and some ended with a few tears, but after a few hugs, they were back at it playing Little Team Gaga in no time! One of our outstanding Juniors, Hannah, said it best, “You know it feels really happy seeing your parents’ faces, but it can also be a little sad.” After weeks apart, we knew today would bring a mix of emotions, but we’re happy to report that phone call day was a success! The girls loved seeing the ones they love most! Tomorrow we continue our phone call weekend with our AJ’s, Sub’s, and Inter II’s. Our Inter I’s had their first call earlier this week, and our Seniors have separate phone call permissions by Big Team as our oldest age group!

One of the other big moments of today was our Evening Services, which were moved to tonight due to yesterday’s weather. This was our first time having services on the hill overlooking the lake, and the beautiful summer night was showing off for us. The campers sang beautifully, and you could sense that campers were feeling so happy. Whether it was the sunny weather, connecting with parents, or the feeling that accompanied their first traditional Evening Services – the night was perfect. We’re so happy to see that the weatherman is on our side with no rain in sight for the foreseeable future!

Kind Regards,

Leslie
