We knew the effects of Hurricane Elsa were coming our way the strongest today, and we prepared a jam-packed day of rainy day activities. One of our camper’s favorite activities is rock climbing, so we knew after so many days of rain, we needed to make sure our indoor rock climbing wall was open and ready! When girls found out climbing in the gym was on their schedule, smiles swept across their faces. Many approached the wall with the confidence of seasoned climbers, and then some walked in a bit nervous but eager to see how far they could go up the wall. Their team cheered from the ground as they soared high on the wall by clenching onto each tiny rock. They all did such a fantastic job supporting one another. After a day of rock climbing, art shops, theatre auditions, fitness activities, and their daily rest hour – the day ended with a movie night, camp songs, and some time to explore each of our art shops!

As much as we make the most of rainy days at Tripp Lake Camp, I’m ready for sunnier days, and I know the girls are too. The good news is that they’re coming our way! Tomorrow we’re back on the water, sailing, canoeing, waterskiing, swimming, and standup paddleboarding (SUP). And to top that off, tomorrow we start the day with a camper favorite, Pajama Breakfast (PJB)! Girls start the day a little later at 9 am and can come to the dining hall with their cozy pj’s on to have a surprise Dunkin Donut breakfast! PJB is always a surprise announcement the night before, and tonight the dining hall roared with excitement!

Every day our Administrative Team has a meeting early in the morning before campers wake up to update one another on any important events from the previous day, talk about the day ahead, and strategize what’s to come for the rest of the summer. One of the most important discussion topics this summer is how we can safely and creatively bring the fun to Tripp Lake Camp. It’s a topic that is always top of mind because we know how important it is to make this summer feel just like any other. We have some exciting ideas that we can’t wait to share with you in the next couple of weeks!

Kind Regards,

Leslie
