Day 10: A Case of the FUNdays in the Art Shops

Tripp Lake Camp’s weather of late has been an embarrassment of riches; low 80s with small patches of fluffy, white clouds. We would happily go as far as calling it picturesque. With the sun out, campers were out enjoying themselves at a number of activities.

But today, we at the TLC Times Daily Blog would like to pull our focus on The Art Shops. It’s now a week and a half into camp, and the girls’ creative juices are flowing. It’s never a dull moment in our Art Shops, as the girls are offered  a variety of opportunities to explore their inventive playfulness in self-expression. They can create videos shorts, print black & white photos, paint a masterpiece or two, design necklaces and lockets in Silver, or make a ceramic bowl in Pottery…just to name a few. With nine total Art Shops here at TLC, the girls really have no limits to what they can make.

Our lovely video counselor, Charlotte Hawkins, has recorded & edited a video short exclusively for the TLC Times Daily Blog showcasing the fun art activities our campers participated in today. You’re invited to watch below!

And finally, the camper-written TLC Times here at camp, which is published and distributed every Sunday to campers, is a great source for all-things camp news, culture, and creativity. One talented Senior II penned a bedtime story–dedicated to the younger TLC campers–inspired by the children’s book, Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown, named Goodnight Camp.  It is an honor to be able to share it with you today. Enjoy!

Goodnight Camp.

On the great Spahn House,

There was a Junior

and a milk,

and a cookie

that was made with TLC, tender loving care.

And there were 1ABers sitting on the Adirondacks

and two Advisors,

and a pair of friends

and a smile

and a cheer,

and a hand reaching for an orange,

and a Counselor who said, “Take one.”

Goodnight Spahn House,

Goodnight milk,

Goodnight to the cookies made with TLC.

Goodnight 1AB

and the Advisors.

Goodnight Janet

Goodnight Nancy

Goodnight Leslie

and goodnight OTW.

Goodnight cheers

and goodnight songs,

Goodnight Kitty Car

and goodnight lake.

Goodnight to the Manor

and goodnight to NAC.

Goodnight TLCers.

Goodnight lights

and goodnight to the counselors saying, “Take one.”

Goodnight Animal Farm

Goodnight bunk-hopping,

Goodnight Juniors,

TLC loves you.
