Prospective StaffTripp Lake Camp is looking for warm, empathetic people who will contribute to the sense of community and well-being of the staff, and our approximately 330 campers, who range in age from 8 to 16. Each counselor leads or assists in an activity. Tripp Lake Camp offers modern, extensive facilities and state-of-the art equipment. Most female counselors live in a cabin with seven campers, with the remaining staff housed in separate male and female cabins. Counselors have their own recreation lodge with cable TV that is open for use during their leisure time. The camp season begins in late June, and ends the third week of August. Staff members are required to attend pre-camp orientation, which begins six days before the campers arrive. Some activities require an additional training programs, which are scheduled before pre-camp orientation. An optional Trip Leader Certification course is also offered. Our staff consists of approximately 135 counselors from all areas of the United States, as well as the United Kingdom. Staff members generally have completed at least one year of college before coming to camp, and approximately half are college graduates. The staff is 75% female and 25% male, and we maintain a 3 to 1 camper ratio. Tripp Lake is a non-smoking facility. Salary is dependent upon the applicant's experience and qualifications, among other factors. Tripp Lake also provides transportation assistance to and from camp, as well as board, lodging, laundry service, and camp uniforms. If you are married or have children, please note we have limited housing for families. Health and SafetyThe health and safety of each individual is our highest priority. Our full-time residential medical staff consists of one Physician and four Registered Nurses. We have a well-equipped modern infirmary on camp property. The medical staff maintains vigilant supervision of health issues. UniformTripp Lake campers and staff wear a required uniform that is designed for comfort and function. The uniform not only eliminates competition in dressing, but also promotes our sense of community and team spirit. LocationTripp Lake Camp is located in Poland, Maine, midway between the Atlantic Ocean and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We are 45 minutes north of Portland, Maine's largest city, and just 20 minutes from Lewiston and Auburn, Maine, where you will find shopping and movie theaters. The camp property consists of 260 acres of spacious open fields surrounded by wooded acreage, located on the northwest shore of Tripp Lake. The grounds and facilities are maintained in excellent condition and are constantly improved for practical use and beauty. Tripp Lake Camp is the only camp on the lake.
